I believe organizations rarely struggle because they lack talent, ambition, or good ideas. More often, they struggle because somewhere between strategy and execution, complexity begins to outpace clarity. Executive teams invest significant time, resources, and capital into strategic initiatives with the expectation of creating measurable organizational value. Yet many of those investments fall short of expectations—not because the strategy was flawed, but because the organization was not fully aligned to realize its intended value. Understanding why that happens has become the foundation of my work. As the Founder and CEO of Next Step Forward, I help executive leaders improve organizational effectiveness by identifying the hidden constraints that prevent strategy from becoming measurable results. Whether I'm delivering a keynote, facilitating an executive leadership session, or serving as a business advisor, my focus remains the same: helping leaders create organizations that consistently translate strategic investment into organizational performance.

My Perspective

Throughout more than two decades of corporate leadership, organizational consulting, and executive advisory, I've worked with organizations navigating growth, transformation, operational complexity, and organizational change. Across industries and business challenges, I kept noticing the same pattern. Organizations were making thoughtful strategic decisions. Leaders were investing in innovation, technology, process improvements, leadership development, and transformation initiatives with every expectation of improving performance. Yet the results often failed to match the investment. That observation led me to study organizations differently. Rather than asking, "What strategy should we implement?" I became more interested in understanding, "What prevents well-designed strategies from producing the organizational value leaders expected?" That systems-oriented perspective continues to shape my work today.

Experience That Shapes My Perspective

My professional experience includes more than 20 years of leading organizational improvement, operational excellence, leadership development, and strategic initiatives across complex organizations. Today, that experience is complemented by doctoral research in Strategy and Innovation, where my work explores how executive leaders describe the relationship between the organizational value they expect from strategic innovation initiatives and the value ultimately realized. Together, my professional experience and academic research allow me to bridge practical business challenges with evidence-based insights that help organizations make better strategic decisions.
